The insulating material components of the power strip should be able to withstand a certain degree of resistance to abnormal heat, flame resistance and tracking resistance. This article introduces the glow wire test and tracking resistance test of the plastic shell parts of the socket:
1. Glow wire test
The new national standard GB2099-2008 stipulates that all plastic parts of the socket should be able to pass the 750℃ glow-wire test, or even higher, the industry standard tends to 850℃. As shown in the figure below, after the glow wire burns the insulating material parts of the plug-in strip for 30 seconds at 850°C, remove the flame, and the flame should be extinguished within 30 seconds of the sample. The burning falling objects should not ignite the tissue paper 200mm below it.
2. Anti-leakage tracking test
The test solution is prepared according to 100ml of distilled water and 0.1g of ammonium chloride. The insulating material parts are tested with an AC voltage of 175V using a leakage tracking test device, and then the test solution is dropped. Flashover or breakdown shall not occur before 50 drops of the test solution are dropped.
